I moved to Monte Cristo Rd. in 2011. One night I was driving home going East on Monte Cristo coming from the expressway and was stuck at the light on Doolittle and Monte Cristo. The roads were empty but the light outside was decent. As I waited for the light to change I looked around noticing the roads were empty and it was only around 10:30 pm.
If anyone from the Rio Grande Valley remembers El Centro Mall in Pharr, Texas, you will remember its good ole days but as the mall got older it did become a bit creepy to be in there. As tenants left, the mall became more and more lonely but, haunted? For those of you who don’t know where El Centro Mall was, it’s where Main Event, Academy and the movie theater are now in Pharr. If anyone has ever had an encounter there, we would like to here about it.

This story was told to me by my dad. First of all my dad is a skeptical person and he never tells a lie so I don’t think this is a made up story.
Years back, way before new businesses and buildings were built where El Centro Mall was demolished, my dad used to work night shift as a custodian there. Him and another co-worker used to clean the stores at night. One night while my dad was working and around 10pm, the mall was closed and was completely deserted except for my dad and the other worker. He decided to take a short coffee break so he went and looked for his co-worker so they could go together for the coffee break. It happened that his co-worker was working at the other end of the mall .
So as my dad was walking his way over there through the glass reflection he saw a lady going the opposite way and he swears he also heard the lady’s high heels echoing on the quiet floor. My dad says he glanced around to try and greet the lady to tell her it wasn’t shopping hours and she wasn’t to be inside since the mall was closed to the public. But as he turned around he didn’t see the lady there anymore but when he glanced back at the glass window her reflection was there. She was standing still and my dad got the cold chills running down his back. He quickly paced to go find his co-worker.
When they both got together my dad was shocked at what he experienced and after his co-worker’s many attempts of asking my dad if there was something wrong my dad finally gave in and told him what he saw. His co-worker’s reaction was not surprised, instead he said to my dad that he wasn’t the first person to actually see that phantom lady. A couple of other workers saw the phantom too. So my dad asked him who she was and he told my dad the story.
It dated back to the 60’s before the mall was even built. In it’s place used to be a ladies bar. One night back then a lady got murdered real ugly by a serial killer that happened to be here at the time. The lady was drinking but before she died she left a grudge. She swore to come back to get the killer. So since the mall got torn down maybe she will be in peace but who knows.
What do you think? Does the Phantom Lady of El Centro Mall Still Exist? Comment Below

My cousin and I experienced this paranormal activity in Harlingen in late November 2014. It’s an event that we have shared with our family and have never been able to explain. It was an eerie experience that has luckily never occurred again, but it is also something that we can’t get our mind off of and can’t seem to understand.
One night the lights went out, we lit candles and sat in the living room for about 20 minutes before my cousin decided it would be a good idea to play hide and seek (something we always did whenever we were bored). I didn’t want to play because I was afraid of the dark. That’s when we opted for me using a candle. As soon as I grabbed a candle my cousin was gone. I was scared to say the least.
My husband and I live in an apartment complex on the second floor in McAllen off of Tamarack ave and we have experienced some paranormal activities over the few years we have been living there.
When my friends come over they always feel uneasy especially in our bedroom, since its a one bedroom apartment they can see it from where we sit in the living room.
When my husband and I are in bed getting ready to sleep we occasionally here cupboard being closed or random noises from the kitchen and dining room area.
Hello, first off I’m a fan of the site, I’m a new fan and have been coming here off and on for the past couple of months. I have an encounter of sorts I would like to share. It happened back in the summer of 1995 in Edcouch, TX. I was 15 years old at the time, I’m 37 now and remember it like it was yesterday.
Well, this one night I had a buddy of mine come over, we wanted to rent some video games and movies so I asked my mom if I could borrow the car and head out. She said no and I had a fit, blew a gasket teenage style. I stormed out of the house and walked down the street to cool down. I didn’t even bother telling my friend either, I just left. I walked down to the end of the street to where the street lamps didn’t shine. I took a seat right at the middle of the street and put my head down. At that time my old neighborhood was right next to a corn field, and the rest of the lots were filled with overgrown dry, tall grass and an abundance of mesquite trees. We also had an old meat market that had closed down some years before and was now just an empty vandalized building. The meat market was located on the opposite side of the block and therefore my street was on the backside of the property.
“I’m originally from Laredo, TX; which in it’s own right has a lot of haunted history. I am now a professional story teller and I travel from school to school to tell my ghost stories, and the kids love them. The one thing I always mention at the beginning of each ghost story is that they are ALL true. All of them. Each one of my stories is a part of my past and it all started when I was 3 years old. Here’s the beginning of my continuing ghost story.
Back in 1985 my mom noticed something off about me. I was very quiet and kept to myself. At times she would come towards me to comfort me or hold me and I would scream at the top of my lungs at her attempt. My mother knew something was wrong but she couldn’t put her finger on it. After visiting a few doctors not one could give my mother an accurate diagnosis. So, I was taken home. It wasn’t until one night that my mom fed me some spaghetti and as I finished my plate I looked over to my mom and said, “It hurts here mama.” pointing to my lower right side of my stomach.
Working with a diverse range of students is something you can expect while working in the public school system. I work in the state of Texas as a middle school teacher. I happen to have a special needs 8th grade student we’ll call “Eric” for the sake of the story. He is a good kid, very quiet and actually has a hard time speaking clearly as he is speech impaired, but I always try my hardest to make out what he is trying to say to me.
Well, today out of the blue he comes up to me with this picture in his hand and tells me his cousin and himself have been witnessing strange things around his house at random hours of the day and night. Doors have been closing on their own along with different shadows appearing around his room and home.
