I’m curious who on here has heard of The Devil at Los Arcos. I’ve heard this story many times sometimes from a”friend” of a person who was present that night, and even from a person who claimed to be a witness to the unexpected visitor that night. Either way, the story goes like this.
On a hot, West Texas night, a dance was in full swing at the well known Los Arco’s Ballroom. As Norteno music played loud enough to be heard several blocks away, the crowded dance hall moved with couples both young and old . The smell of beer and liquor swelled, reaching out beyond the walls like a haze above the building.
Inside, the ballroom was dimly lit with only the colored lights on stage and a yellow hue of the bar that gave little light to the people inside . This particular night was extremely busy. A favored band was playing and the crowded dance floor left little room for movement. Sometime, during the music and movement, a stranger appears. No one claims to have seen him walk in but only that he was suddenly there. The people begin to ask; who is this man? He is not from here, some guessed he was from a neighboring town others assumed he was was simply a new resident to the oil boom town.
“When I was between 15-17 (1996-1998) years old, and living in The Colony, TX (about 20 minutes from downtown Dallas, and still small towns back then), a group of friends and I decided it would be a great idea to go to Zion Cemetery in Frisco, TX.
It was one of the last weekends before school let out for summer, and some of us were moving away, or wouldn’t have time to hang out in the summer.
“I’ve only had a handful, of run-ins with ghosts. I’ve never seen an actual apparition. I’ve seen things move, but that is not the story, which I tell today. For a few years, what happened, would bug me for a long time.
I worked at Roy’s Taxi, from 1995-2006. I was a dispatcher, but also drove from time to time. Yes, you may play Prince’s Lady Cab Driver, in your head, when you think of me. =P
Back in 1997, when I was 26, I actually lived at Roy’s Taxi for a year, with my then boyfriend. The business, was ran out of the house that Roy Velasquez senior, built for his family. The house was located in downtown, on the south bound side of IH-35, just a block south of Cesar Chavez.
“Hi, I have a similar experience. I lived in an apt on 11th St. in McAllen, TX. My boyfriend and I were in the living room talking and then all of a sudden a silver ball that looked like an orb bounced from the ceiling fan and flew straight to the front door and disappeared.
It looked so real, but it was weird because it came out from the ceiling fan and hit the front door. We thought the ceiling fan was gonna catch on fire, but the orb just disappeared. I also had weird ghost experiences in that apt. A little girl’s voice would whisper in my ear when I was going to bed, saying “Good Night “ or would have nightmares of a hairy figure trying to choke me.”-Irene

“I work at Dillard’s in McAllen,Texas and I’ve been working there for 15 yrs. I used to work up stairs in the home dept.
One day, I was walking in the stock room because we used to wrap wedding presents in there and I looked to the left at the way end of the room.
I saw a tall man dressed in an old fashion tuxedo. He was reaching up on the top shelf. He looked at me and I looked at him. I was about to wrap the gift when suddenly it hit me.
I looked again and he was gone. I got scared and went out. I told my co-worker about it. He said, “yes, I’ve seen ladies dresses in old fashion clothes, with umbrellas. They look at me and smile.”-Gracie
“I have an experience I had back in 2012 at my apartment on 11th St. in McAllen, TX. One cold December evening, I left to go visit my father at a nursing home, while walking towards the apt exit next to the pool area, there’s a boy about 7 yrs. old wearing a square short sleeve shirt and jeans. The night was a little cold and lightly raining. The boy was facing towards the pool and I just left, but I kept thinking to myself, what a little boy would be doing alone outside.
The neighborhood was quiet and no one was outside because of the cold weather and light rain, so I just left. When I got back from visiting my dad, I saw the boy standing facing the apt office window. He was just still, I asked him, “are you ok?” He turned and looked at me and said, “I wanna go there.”
He pointed to the east side of the apt. I said, “where do you live?” and he kept pointing to the east side, so I said, “go in to your house.” So, he just started walking toward an empty apt, opened the door and went in, but that apt was empty and I waited for him to get inside. The apt looked dark, but he went inside and the door just closed by itself.
I felt chills cause the boy was outside by himself when I left and he was also at the same place when I got back about 2 hrs later. Then, when I told a friend of mine who lived at the apts about the boy, she said that years back a little boy drowned there in the pool.”-Irma
Hi, my name is Jose, this is my story and what led me to believe in the paranormal. A group of friends and I created a team dedicated to the investigation of the paranormal to help people with similar problems. I grew up in Edinburg Texas. I must of had been at least 12 years old. My parents had rented a house there for us to live in while my dad was building our home. We didn’t last very long there, at the most probably 6 months. There was nothing abnormal about the house when we moved in but, as the days passed, things started to change.
Sometimes, I would be taking a bath and the light would turn off. Also, I would be in the restroom brushing my teeth and the shower would turn on. At other times I would be watching TV in my room and the door would open and when I would get up and see which one of my brothers it was, I would find myself starring down an empty hall and no one was there.
First of all I wanna give thanks to my friend who lent me his email to make it possible for me to submit this story and also wanna say thanks to True Horror Stories of Texas for opening this website where we can have the privilege of sharing our experiences with the public. Once again thanks. Now back to relating my paranormal experience.
This experience happened a few days back while driving with my friend, him being the passenger. We were like most people playing the famous Pokemon Go and finding Pokemons. We were traveling past Hwy 107 and La Homa Rd. where there’s almost no street lights and it’s pitch black. Just the headlights of our car lit the road ahead of us. And us being so into the phone didn’t realize we were so far away off from where we were supposed to be.
This next story comes to us from Casey out of Mission, TX. He currently lives on what is becoming one of the most infamous roads in all of Texas, La Homa Road. Check out Casey’s story.
“I live on La Homa Road in Mission TX. I moved in 3 years ago with my wife and mother in law. This year my wife and I have experienced awkward sightings and noises after I moved in, here are some of those experiences.
First of all, my wife has always been sensitive to the spirit world. She has an ability to see ghosts. One day, as she was showering, she looked over to the small window which happened to be open just enough for her to see outside.
