In La Feria, Texas the elementary school C. E. Vail’s gym is haunted by a little girl and boy of about the ages of 10. Vail is built over the first cemetery that was there. Very uneasy things happen in the gym like for one if you put your ear to the ground and knock once, you will hear someone or something knock back three times and hear a cry for help. Also with the story of bloody Mary is big at this school. The school wasn’t only a elementary school, it used to be the old middle school and once there was a girl named Mary who had twins, which we know as baby pink and baby blue. The twins were murder by their mother (they drowned). They haunted the first grade wing’s bathroom. If you go to the last stall in the either bathroom and knock on the wall three times, the light will flicker and they will show
One night in Santa Maria Texas, near the Rio Grande River and near a cemetery, my cousin was riding her bicycle late at night. She was just arriving at my house from the park, when she told us that, when she parked her bike in the drive way of my house, a mysterious beautiful lady with a white dress appeared. She told us that the lady wasn’t even touching the ground.
My mom told me this story when I was little and it has always stuck with me. The story is about the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. There used to be a nurse who worked there, she had been there for many years. One day she became very ill and passed away in the hospital. It’s said that she now haunts a certain part of the hospital every night. The hauntings were so common and people were so frightened by it that they had to close off a certain section of the hospital permanently.
I live in a small border town along the tip of South Texas. About a week ago my brother told me he saw something that has been making him question his sanity ever since. He’s the type of guy who will get up in the middle of the night and check outside the house to see if everything is alright. Some of the neighbors have had some of their property stolen so he likes to make sure all is good.
According to him, it was around 3:15 am and he heard a chorus of dogs barking loudly and aggressively down the alley behind our house. So, he gets up, walks down the hall and stares out the back door window while facing south. After gazing out the window for about 5 minutes,
On December 27, 2012 we were visiting the Valley and were at my in laws house with our kids in McAllen. We had been there all day but were not going to sleep there, we were sleeping over at my mother’s house in Edinburg. It was very cold at night and once it got to midnight I started nagging at my husband that we needed to make our way to my mother’s house in Edinburg because of how late and cold it was and we had the kids. So finally we left the house around 12:30am. My in laws house is like three minutes away from the intersection of Bicentennial and Tamarack Ave.
In 1976, residents of South Texas’ Rio Grande Valley were terrorized by a huge, ape faced, winged beast, which, according to eyewitness reports, bore two blood-red eyes.
While this creature may share the same moniker as the affectionate, yellow plumed character adored by millions on Sesame Street, anyone who’s ever encountered this ape-faced, bird-like monstrosity will tell you that this creature is anything but lovable.
Although Tom Waldon would claim to have found unusual,three-toed tracks measured 8-inches across embedded in the ground near his Harlingen home on January 2nd, 1976, the first known sighting of the creature that would come to be known as “Big Bird” occurred on January 1st, 1976, when, then 11-year old Tracey Lawson and her 14-year old cousin, Jackie Davies, saw the beast while playing in Lawson’s back yard near Harlingen, Texas.
Hello – I noticed your article about small dinosaurs in Hebbronville, Texas. This witness was not exaggerating because I have seen an unknown animal in a field here in Hebbronville.
It was April 2011 and I was walking along W. David St. to my friend’s house on Randada Rd. at about 5:45 PM. I had just gotten off work. On the side of the road where I was walking, I saw dust being kicked up into the air and moving along the field. Then the trail of dust was heading toward the road in front of me. I stopped walking not knowing what may be exiting at the road.
In 1995 my dad and stepmom bought a house in a small town, Portland, TX. They took my older sister (15), brother (11) and I (7) over to look at it. The minute we set foot inside I noticed how dark it was. There were windows everywhere but it still seemed very dark.
My sister and I were to share a bedroom upstairs, while my brother took one downstairs along with my parents. I don’t know how long after we moved in that things started happening.
“Time for bed,” announced Mrs. Castro. “Get your PJs on, Julian, and brush your teeth.”
Julian Castro had experienced a bit of a growth spurt before his fifth birthday, so he could reach the sink without a step. After rebuttoning his pajama shirt, he set his teddy bear on the toilet seat and made careful swirls across his teeth with the toothbrush. He always tried to be a good boy, though his parents didn’t seem to notice much. They had their jobs and their friends. Julian was expected to keep out of the way and let them live their lives, so he made himself as invisible as possible.
