“This was a couple of years back. I had this habit of staying up until very late hours of the night. On one particular night, I was doing the usual, listening to my earphones under the tree outside my house, it was around 3 am there was a full moon so it wasn’t very dark. All of a sudden i started to get goosebumps out of nowhere, and i began to get the sense that i was being watched so I just stood up and quickly checked behind me …nothing.
Everything was completely silent, you could not hear any sound whatsoever. Weird, but not unusual. Suddenly, I started to here wings flapping it sounded loud and as I look up I see a man flying with giant bat-like wings.
I feel my blood drop and I froze and as I get back into my senses, I take out my phone to try to get a picture, but it was too dark. I watched as it slowly flew away, I began to realize that this thing I just saw actually exists. This humanoid creature roams our town late at night watching us.” -Jessica Herrera
3 AM is known as the “Witching Hour” as it has been told throughout history that the vale between the supernatural and the living is at its thinnest, therefore leaving it more susceptible to paranormal/demonic activity. Check out what Cindy had to say about a creepy experience involving a flying creature she witnessed at 3 AM.
“I used to live in a condo in McAllen back in 2013. It was a little after 3 AM when my dog barked to let her out for her business. I always go out with her and I remember seeing something huge and black fly nearby and it landed on a nearby small electric pole.
At that point I was frozen and didn’t know what to do. I was too scared to grab my dog and run back in thinking I’d cause it to go after us, so I tried to act like I wasn’t scared. It was all black and somewhat looked like a big black coat. I had never seen such a thing that part of me felt like it was just some bad evil thing.
It then flew away with some huge black wings. It wasn’t close enough for me to tell what kind of a face it was. Till this day I have no clue and wonder if it was a vulture but part of me thinks it had to have been something else. Whatever it was freaked me out and I still remember till this day.” -Cindy
There have been many reports concerning flying humanoids in Deep South Texas. What do you think? Leave a comment below.
We have been having a lot of stories come in from Edinburg, Texas. There seems to be something going on there around the University area. Some people are unaware of the 4th floor of the Library. Here’s the latest story from there.
I work the graveyard shift at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley formerly called UTPA. Working graveyard shift, you hear a lot of stories, but one story that I have heard is pretty creepy.
This incident was told to me I was not present when this occurred.
It was around 1:30 or 2am and a police officer went to the library to contact a custodian, as the officer reached the 4th floor of the library and the elevator doors opened a small child about 4 or 5 years of age ran past him giggling. Of course the only thought that came to the officers mind was “Why would the custodian bring his son to work?” The officer called to the boy but the boy was long gone and didn’t answer the officers calls. We like to think of True Horror Stories of Texas as a place where everyone has an opportunity to tell their stories. The story you’re about to hear is a perfect example of this. They took the time to really express what they actually experienced growing up. This took place in Edinburg, Texas, it’s a look into a child’s home that was filled with paranormal activity. If you have a story like this you can share it here.
I lived at 308 W. McIntyre, grew up there until I was 18. Since before I was born stuff would happen there. Door knobs would violently turn like someone was trying to open the door, loud footsteps upstairs when no one else was home, to sounds of moving furniture upstairs.
We have had our share of stories come from La Homa Road in Mission Texas. We even proclaimed it Most Haunted Road in Texas. And the stories continue to pour in.
“This story was told to me by one of my best friends, the same friend that had this horrifying experience. This dates back to 1995, when my friend was night cruising with a group of friends after work. Back then, La Homa Road was just a citrus grove plantation full of orange trees, not many houses, just this lonely two lane road with no street lights.
I’m curious who on here has heard of The Devil at Los Arcos. I’ve heard this story many times sometimes from a”friend” of a person who was present that night, and even from a person who claimed to be a witness to the unexpected visitor that night. Either way, the story goes like this.
On a hot, West Texas night, a dance was in full swing at the well known Los Arco’s Ballroom. As Norteno music played loud enough to be heard several blocks away, the crowded dance hall moved with couples both young and old . The smell of beer and liquor swelled, reaching out beyond the walls like a haze above the building.
Inside, the ballroom was dimly lit with only the colored lights on stage and a yellow hue of the bar that gave little light to the people inside . This particular night was extremely busy. A favored band was playing and the crowded dance floor left little room for movement. Sometime, during the music and movement, a stranger appears. No one claims to have seen him walk in but only that he was suddenly there. The people begin to ask; who is this man? He is not from here, some guessed he was from a neighboring town others assumed he was was simply a new resident to the oil boom town.
