As I looked into my rearview mirror, I saw bright lights speeding toward me. I merged into the middle lane to let them pass. Right after that, I saw a blue car flying past me at full speed. Out of nowhere, it turned left—straight into a field—still going fast. Then it curved around my sweeping truck, and for a second, I thought it was going to hit me.
After going around my truck, it sped off onto the right shoulder, still going full speed, swerving across the grass before driving straight into the field and disappearing into the trees. It would’ve been impossible for any car to go through that area—it’s all thick woodland and rough terrain. I couldn’t believe what I had just seen. It was shockingly scary.
About thirty minutes later, around 4 AM, I was passing near the Huntsville TDCJ unit when I suddenly felt a strange presence enter my sweeper. That same eerie feeling came over me, like something unseen was there. I started talking to it, asking questions like, “What happened to you?” and “How did you get stuck here?”
That’s when my passenger-side window started rolling down on its own.
Right before reaching the county line, I spoke out loud again and told it, “You have to get off now. You can’t go any further.”
And just like that, the feeling was gone. I hoped—whoever or whatever it was—found peace.”-Carlos V.S.
