During a road trip to Kerrville, an anonymous traveler experienced something they still can’t explain. After a long drive filled with car trouble, they arrived at their relatives’ house, where they spent the evening chatting and relaxing. As the night deepened, everyone went to bed, and the house grew quiet—until around 4 a.m. when strange sounds broke the silence.
The Story
I was on a road trip to Kerrville with my uncle to visit his aunts and cousins. The drive, about 4-6 hours with stops and car difficulties, wasn’t the worst. We even had a flat tire just 2 miles from the house.
When we arrived, we were exhausted but still managed to chat and have some drinks with our relatives. Inside, my cousin’s two dogs—a small one and a larger, short-furred one—came running up to me, sniffing curiously. My cousin’s mom called the dogs to bed and locked them in her room. By 4 am, everyone was asleep, and I finally settled into a recliner in the living room.
That’s when I heard it—clacking and footsteps. The clacking resembled the sound of a dog with uncut claws. I sat up in the chair and looked around, hearing panting behind me. Slowly, I turned and saw a large, fluffy dog. It was unfamiliar and moved strangely. The dog let me pet it and then vanished.
I planned to talk to my cousin about it in the morning, but when I woke up, he was gone, and so was the dog. His dogs didn’t come near me after that night. I secretly searched the whole house but found no trace of that mysterious dog. To this day, I still have no clue whose dog it was, or if it even was a dog at all.” -Anonymous
