“My encounter was in Sept of 2018. I live on the edge of the Sam Houston National Forest. A 5-10 min walk from lake Conroe down FM 1097. Strange things had been happening for about a month with things coming to my house, weird noises in the woods behind my house. My wife and I had a dog that was taken by something which I saw something grab my dog and yank it into the tree line. Unfortunately I couldn’t see what grabbed her. But when my wife and I went to find her in the place where she disappeared, there were no signs of a struggle, no blood, no fur, nothing. Like whatever took my dog just vanished.
To shorten my story it was about 4 am one morning I was sitting on my porch smoking a cigarette enjoying the peace and quiet. But at this time it was to quiet, absolutely no noises. And in this Forest even for 4 am there are always noises. I shined my spotlight around from the backside of my property and followed the tree line. I came to the biggest tree directly across from my front porch and next to the tree was the biggest wolf head I have ever seen looking at me from behind the tree. This head had to be about 4 to 4/12 feet off the ground. This thing had the brightest green eyes I have ever seen. Captivating actually. I just stared, slightly shaking with the light in hand. After a few seconds this thing grabbed the tree with its hand, not paw, but hand and stood up next to the tree. I was floored!! What in the hell am I looking at?
I was in shock and completely scared. This creature was grey and was standing there just looking at me. I couldn’t move. I was shaking terribly. This thing then took 2 steps towards me and that snapped me out of my trance and I reached behind me trying t find my doorknob. I ran inside and woke up my wife and begged her to come outside and see this. Surprisingly instead of yelling at me for waking her she said she could tell something was wrong with me by the sound of my voice. She came to the front door and I just knew this thing would be gone but it wasn’t. There it stood and the look on my wife’s face said it all. She was seeing what I was seeing.
The creature then dropped to all fours and walked down the tree line back into the forest. I’ve never been the same since. It left me scarred where I’m afraid of the woods at night and very jumpy to noises and things. It looked like a giant grey werewolf which I now know is probably what is referred to as a dogman. People need to know that these things are out there. I’m not saying people should go out there and obliterate them all if they could even find them but people should be aware that they exist and they’re out there. But believe me, I’ve tried telling others and they just laugh and make jokes and think I’m nuts which makes the people who have encounters shut down and not share their experience. I absolutely 100% believe what you’re saying because I saw it too. I live in Kingwood Texas. It is a deep forest with many homes and very dark green spaces and trails in the forest. My encounter occurred around 10 pm maybe 8yrs ago and something that I cannot get out of my memory like it’s burned in my brain what I saw. I was driving and almost to my home near the end of Kingwood Drive. This thing must’ve been 12 feet tall and I was in a tall SUV and I screamed and because I thought it was somebody running in front of me. My daughter was sitting next to me, it was like a wolf or a short nose, German Shepherd, but it was hairy and standing upright and looked at us and it was right on the right passenger side and I should’ve felt a thud because it was like almost on top of us. Where it occurred would’ve been on one of the bridge paths that come out of the green space and cross over and go back into another woods. I am so frightened, even looking in to the woods at the end of our street at night. I’m scared letting our dogs out at night. I’m always looking up into the trees night because I feel like it’s watching. I will put my hand on a Bible and swear this happened. It was real and not real at the same time. Your eyes are seeing it but your mind cannot process or make sense of it. I thought it was Bigfoot for the longest time but now I realize it was some type of werewolf creature. Along with that there are vortexes in Kingwood that you will drive through and completely loose service to your radio when driving. Strangely, I have never been to Sam Houston national forest and there’s something in my gut that has always told me not to go there even though hiking is what I love most.
From Philly but lived on assignment in Katy in 2015 for a couple months… One late night I was driving up to Huntsville through backroads & found myself in a thick forest I think near Montgomery. No cell service droning through nothing but woods and my headlights for almost 30 minutes. Halfway through came across two LARGE dog like animals. One all black & one gray, just standing in the road with glowing eyes (reflective like a cat). Google says there are no Wolves in Texas but I will go to my deathbed saying they were wolves. Dog like but they were definitely bigger than a German Shepard of Husky. The grey one was 5 feet from my driver door and didn’t move as I rode past. Scared I’ve ever been in my 40 years of life.
All I will say is I hunted the Sam Houston National Forest from 2000-2006 near Fm 149 about 5 miles from 1097. And never seen anything other than deer and hogs. Until 2007 and I have never hunted again . Enter at own risk. And if you bow hunt take a sidearm.
