A couple of months ago we were contacted by Mike out of La Joya, TX who claims to have witnessed a bizarre cryptid in West Texas. Check out Mike’s story below.
“Hello my name is Michael A. I’m from South Texas (La Joya ,TX). I’m here working in the pipe line, staying in Monohans, TX.
Well, a few months ago I went down to my home place. A few days later, I came back. It was a hot sunny afternoon and took me 9 hours to get to Fort Stockton. From there I took highway 18 North towards Monahans, TX.”
Something didn’t felt right. It was a lonely highway. Saw many dead deer and animals along that highway. About 15-20 minutes North I saw something eating a dead deer. I stopped to see what it was, that thing popped its head up while chewing that deer meat.
It was about 3 feet high. If you have seen that movie, “Critters” it looked exactly like that, except its colors were brown with black spots.
It might have been two arms or long ears coming down its head. I can still see those sharp shark-looking teeth full of blood to this day. I’m not making this up. So travelers going towards the oil fields be extra careful. Be aware when you stop to take a piss on that highway.”
This story is about my father and his encounter with a flying being / humanoid in the South Texas county of Hidalgo. He worked for the sheriff’s department for a number of years.
My father has investigated over 14 homicides, he has had his fair share of experience and has “been around” as they say. Anyway, this is the story he would tell my family and I, told from my father’s POV :
“A late December night.. while driving down the old Military highway after being called by a citizen saying his chickens had been being slaughtered more and more every day, I couldn’t help but notice how dark La Lomita looked as I pulled closer and closer to the old asylum, near where the man lived who called to make a report.
As I arrived and got down from my unit, the man tells me he has heard weird sounding noises throughout the night and he wakes up to tools missing and his chickens being killed and eaten, with nothing but heads and feathers being left behind.
This story takes place in Rio Grande City, TX. Check it out.
“This was a couple of years back. I had this habit of staying up until very late hours of the night. On one particular night, I was doing the usual, listening to my earphones under the tree outside my house, it was around 3 am there was a full moon so it wasn’t very dark. All of a sudden i started to get goosebumps out of nowhere, and i began to get the sense that i was being watched so I just stood up and quickly checked behind me …nothing.
Everything was completely silent, you could not hear any sound whatsoever. Weird, but not unusual. Suddenly, I started to here wings flapping it sounded loud and as I look up I see a man flying with giant bat-like wings.
I feel my blood drop and I froze and as I get back into my senses, I take out my phone to try to get a picture, but it was too dark. I watched as it slowly flew away, I began to realize that this thing I just saw actually exists. This humanoid creature roams our town late at night watching us.” -Jessica Herrera
My cousin and I experienced this paranormal activity in Harlingen in late November 2014. It’s an event that we have shared with our family and have never been able to explain. It was an eerie experience that has luckily never occurred again, but it is also something that we can’t get our mind off of and can’t seem to understand.
One night the lights went out, we lit candles and sat in the living room for about 20 minutes before my cousin decided it would be a good idea to play hide and seek (something we always did whenever we were bored). I didn’t want to play because I was afraid of the dark. That’s when we opted for me using a candle. As soon as I grabbed a candle my cousin was gone. I was scared to say the least.
It’s hard to believe in paranormal activity, especially when you have never had a reason to believe in it. My story proved to me that unusual things can happen, here is my story:
A couple of my closest friends and I usually hung out around a campfire on Saturday nights to relax from the stressing week days. It was usually always the typical thing… we all crashed at our friend’s house and just enjoyed the cold weather in our boots and Carhartt jackets feeling the warmth of the bonfire at our feet. We usually stayed till the fire dies or till our parents decided when it was time to head home. However, on one Saturday night of November 2015, we decided to change things a bit and do something that would leave us full of memories.
Texas is home to several eyewitness accounts when it comes to different types of flying humanoids. From the Houston Batman to the Galveston Mothman, Texas has it’s fair share of terrifying and unusual cryptids. Check out this story below from a McAllen, Texas native.
“The day I left the valley I was in the backyard of my childhood home in McAllen, Texas taking one last look at my garden when I noticed all the neighborhood dogs started barking at once. I happened to look up and see a humanoid creature that had wings like a bat, but the body and head of a human.
This creature had legs I could see hanging down and what looked like hairless grey skin. It was just hovering over my house flapping it’s wings once every few seconds. I was petrified to the point where I could do nothing but stand and stare till it flew off going south.”
This is not the only instance of people witnessing flying humanoids in Deep South Texas. Have any of you ever seen anything similar in this region of Texas or anywhere else? Leave us a comment below.
“Ok so this happened to my friend and I around 2005 I was 20 years old. We had a couple of beers each earlier in the night so pretty much sober. We were driving on highway 59 right outside of Houston near an area called kingwood. This is the first time I have tried to write the experience down so bear with me and feel free to ask me any questions or details if you’d like.
So it was about 3:00am and he was driving I was in the passenger seat. It was a large 3 lane highway and was illuminated quite well with those ‘orange’ colored street lights. In the distance we noticed something in the middle of the freeway, it looked to me like a man on crutches and my immediate thought was that it was a bum or something. But when we got closer it was apparent that it was without a doubt not human.
